Apologies for the delay, just tested with the 1:2.11+dfsg-1ubuntu7.21 release
and the performance numbers are good in it:

Using the 2.11+dfsg-1ubuntu7.20~ppa2 build the performance is still the same
and no functional issues were seen, here are the numbers for numjobs=4 and
numjobs=64 cases, respectively:
READ: bw=1155MiB/s (1211MB/s), 285MiB/s-295MiB
