I checked and /usr/share/icons/elementary-xfce/places/32/user-
desktop.png isnt the correct icon and so isnt the 48, 64, 128 pixel
sizes as well.

I can confirm the bug, but I don't understand it (yet). The icon (user-
desktop) is present in sizes >24px so it should be used. Not sure what's
going wrong there exactly...
