The Ubuntu logo _is_ Plymouth so it's unclear to me what you think is
missing. Is it just the spinner that's missing? If so then that's normal
for systems that don't need to run
Thank you for your bug report, could you add the journalctl log from the
faulty start?
The issue doesn't seem to be a plymouth one though, it sounds like the
system frozen/hit and issue and maybe something got corrupted or in a
buggy state

When I was using CLion on my PC, CLion, Gnome, and then the entire PC
froze, during which I pressed Control-Alt-Fn-F1. Minutes later, a black
screen appeared, and I found myself on the login screen. I then logged
