Public bug reported:

MPlayer in new 20.04 LTS (2:1.3.0-8build5) fails to load GUI gives "skin
errors" Using stock Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (3.36.1) in Gnome. Only thing added
to system pulseaudio control gui and libdvdcss2 from source package set.
Videos default player also will not run but gives no errors. MPlayer
installs as a command line player, but the GUI and skins crash the
program with skin errors.
