Public bug reported: 1. Open update manager 2. Update manager prompts for regular updates, perform them 3. Update manager now prompts for dist upgrade, click "Upgrade" 4. do-release-upgrade is launched 5. Error message is printed: "Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading"
However, doing `sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade` isn't enough. In fact, `sudo apt upgrade` says an upgrade for libc++1 is available but won't be installed. Manually installing libc++1 un-breaks do-release- upgrade. do-release-upgrade shouldn't block on such "update available but won't be upgraded" packages. ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880369 Title: Please install all available updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1880369/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
