Re: [Bug 1882607] Re: One of the updates in the last week broke super key on external usb keyboard

2020-06-19 Thread bhoult
Just resolved this issue. Apparently the g710+ keyboard has a game button
that disables the windows (super) key. Sorry for the bother.

Re: [Bug 1882607] Re: One of the updates in the last week broke super key on external usb keyboard

2020-06-11 Thread bhoult
The key worked fine for the past couple years until last week, and the
super keys are the only keys that are not working now. Seems unlikely to
be hardware. Hopefully it will get fixed in the kernel at some point.
Thanks for looking into it.

[Bug 1882607] Re: One of the updates in the last week broke super key on external usb keyboard

Thanks. I notice buried in that output you said:

So that means this is either a hardware or a kernel problem.

*For the below I used 14. Hitting the super key on either side produced no
results. Other keys did.*
*I tried 12 and 15 as well with the same result (no response). Thanks for
looking into this Daniel, let me know if there is anything else I can do to
help.*

Please install 'evtest' and then run:

  sudo evtest

and select the keyboard.

Now tap the Super key and tell us what 'evtest' reports for it.
