Hi Juerg, Thanks for the quick response. I can't find any logs from the upgrade that caused the removal of /firmware. It was about 3 weeks ago. After the upgrade the system would not boot. I looked at the SD in another computer and saw that /firmware was gone and the files there were moved

Oh. If you don't have a /boot/firmware then that will cause all sorts of issues when upgrading kernel and kernel-related packages. You don't - by any chance - have some logs from when /boot/firmware was removed? What's the output of 'mount' from that system? And what does '/etc/fstab' look like?
