Daniel, Thanks for you help. The gsettings showed that there some bindings involving "super". I tried those an they all worked. I tried "Activities" again and it worked. I did remove some packages after I noticed the problem. Please run these commands: dpkg -l > packages.txt gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.shell > settings.txt and then attach the resulting text files here.
