I didn’t mean to say the package should be updated in focal. I just mentioned it didn’t change since then. If it can be updated for the next release, that would be perfectly fine! Thanks. I tested The latest debian source and it builds just fine for groovy, in case this helps. -- Henning

Unfortunately, the version in Focal is frozen, and has been since February of 2020. No newer version of any package, unless it's either a security fix or extremely minor bugfix, can be backported. That said, I can make sure the newer version ends up in Ubuntu going forward. Please consider using
