Downloaded linux-headers-5.10.0-051000rc6_5.10.0-051000rc6 and
{image,modules}-generic.
Installed via "dpkg -i ..."
Rebooted.
Problem appears resolved. Just to verify I'm running the right version:

Please be aware (as noted above) that while I reported this bug under
linux-image-5.4.0-54 that's only because the latest version
linux-image-5.4.0-56 which exhibits the problem isn't stable enough to collect
information on the problematic wifi device.
