Public bug reported: During operation, clamscan updates the atime on every file that it touches. Since Linux 2.6.8, it's possible to pass the O_NOATIME flag when opening a file. Unfortunately, clamscan does not do this. For example, see https://fossies.org/linux/clamav/clamscan/manager.c#l_399.
My expectation is that system software like backups and antivirus would not update atimes. Would Ubuntu be willing to patch this, or should I submit this bug upstream? ** Affects: clamav (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1915095 Title: clamscan modifies atime during scheduled scans To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamav/+bug/1915095/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
