That situation occurs as well when installing nvidia-utils-* (in my case nvidia-utils-450-server), which installs nvidia-settings. See https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/nvidia-settings/. This requirement is optional and should be omitted on servers, as the same issue will occur
