I'm going to close this bug now. We can now boot the newer kernel using
the updated kboot 1.6-2.

With the exception of the comments on otheros.bld, it's worth reporting
these issues as separate bug reports so they can get the love that they
need. This bug is mainly focused on getting the LiveCD to work.

-won't boot using otheros.bld in cd
-using Geoff's otheros.bld it still boots, module loading and ps3da1 mounting
problems are fixed
-initscripts fails to install due to unknown filesystem spufs, I managed to
skip this by editing initscripts.postinst script
-installer
