reproduced on my thinkpad x31, ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04, with kqemu actived
solution for 9.04, not tested on 8.10:
use the -no-kqemu option to prevent qemu to use kqemu.

I can confirm it is reproducible in ubuntu 8.10, both ISO and ready-made
image hangs like in the screenshoot (minix 3.1.2a).

Still happens in 8.10, as of qemu=0.9.1-5ubuntu3 . Just checked with
3.1.2a ISO.

Exactly same problem here. Running AMD64. I have successfully ran it
with Bochs, though, as a temporary workaround...
