The problem is SELinux, see bug 202983 for a better description (dpkg --configure tries to restart cupsd wich fails if cups is in enforce-mode due to SELinux protection). Please fix. Here is the real error: $ dmesg [ 2695.827471] audit(1206960648.256:11): security_compute_sid: invalid

I did an upgrade to kernel 2.6.24-12, the cupsys seems to have installed I used a an alternate Alpha6 Mar14 to supplement the download. I didn't check to see if the version changed There were other packages that still failed to load, but they are other bugs -- [hardy alpha 5] package cupsys

i still regularly get this issue with any update of cups. I was assuming it was related to my addition of SELinux / removal of apparmor? -- [hardy alpha 5] package cupsys 1.3.5-2ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
