the Ubuntu Software Updater GUI and select "Upgrade..." to 22.04 LTS, it
still does NOT upgrade 21.10 to 22.04 LTS.
The one time that work is when the system pop-up and offer the option to
upgrade 21.10 to 22.04 LTS.

Impish, so unfortunately there is not enough information to figure out
what was happening with the silent failures. I am glad it eventually
worked though.
