Glipper has been turned into a panel applet. Right click on the Gnome
panel and select Add to panel. There is an item called Clipboard
Manager. That's Glipper.

I am now testing on Hardy BETA and glipper will still not install.
The installation process ran from Synaptic seems to complete O.K. but
glipper is not placed on any menu that I can find and I also can not
seem to find the program to run from the terminal either.
Thanks.

Can not get Glipper to run in terminal. When I go to /usr/bin where the
program is usually located (as it is in my Gutsy installations) I do not
see the program even though it is shown in Synaptic as being installed.
Is it possible that it is hiding somewhere else. I would try to do a
search for
Marked as Confirmed.
When I do:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ whereis glipper
glipper: /usr/bin/glipper /usr/share/glipper /usr/share/man/man1/glipper.1.gz

Perhaps it's in /usr/share and perhaps that is not in your path
statement?
It's not in mine by default:
env | grep
The cheesy work around is to grab the Gutsy version and simply put it in
/usr/bin and see if it works.

Bugs,
Maybe I don't understand the nature of your cheesy work around, but as I
said in previous post, the Glipper program already works just fine
in/under Gutsy just does not behave correctly under Hardy Alpha 5 or any
of the previous versions of Hardy.
Thanks.

copy and paste function does not
Basically, take /usr/bin/glipper from gutsy and put it on a USB stick.
Then boot Hardy and copy it to /usr/bin/glipper or just paste it to your
home directory and run it from a terminal from your home directory.
See if any error messages pop up and see if it functions.

Do any error messages show up when you run glipper in a terminal? The
glipper icon needs to be showing in the panel to verify that it is
running. If the icon shows in the panel and cut and paste doesn't work
then it's time to escalate.
Glipper works for me in Gutsy, so this would be a
