Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Ubuntu comes with 2 workspaces enabled by default. Also, in the "System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts" panel, it is possible to assign keyboard shortcuts to switch to these two workspaces. However, when adding additional workspaces, there is no way to assign keyboard shortcuts to these. I had to manually edit ".gconf/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/%gconf.xml" to accomplish this.
