This happend on a regular 7.10 install, you didn't try to upgrade to
8.04, right? If so, please attach the file /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log
to this report.

This is the first time I have had a problem with updates with 7.10
Contents of /etc/apt/sources.list should also include:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/luks/ubuntu gutsy main
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu gutsy main
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list contains:
deb
