Public bug reported: In Ubuntu Hardy, with the iwl3945 driver, my wireless card appears as two different cards:
eth1 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-1B-77-54-03-CB-40-18-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) wlan0_rename Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1b:77:54:03:cb inet addr:192.168.1.11 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::21b:77ff:fe54:3cb/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:54120 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:40741 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:72634807 (69.2 MB) TX bytes:4641540 (4.4 MB) The one that works is wlan0_rename, which is originally wmaster0_rename, but network manager renames to wlan0_rename. I expect to get a single interface for it, instead of two of them. With the old ipw3945 driver this didn't happen. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- I get two interfaces for my wireless card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199770 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
