Yes indeed, an option to change it would be great, more options in
general for font optimizations would be even better.

Everybody does not have a big resolution, or the money to buy it. The
problem is not only about the default settings is poor, it's about we
can't change it to have the old one font.

2008-03-10 Thread Manos Vasiliadis
I don't see why this is submitted as a bug, the new fonts seem better to
me. Yes they look kind of blurry but that's a good thing especially on
big screen resolutions.

[Bug 200083] Re: Fonts looks different and ugly in Hardy

2008-03-10 Thread serega
Same here in kubuntu hardy alpha 6. I've tried downgrading language-selector as
described in bug 199557, and dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config and
I am not sure if it helped or not. But what I currently have is on screenshot.
The font that is on the left is Dejavu Sans Mono, the other one is Dejavu Sans.
Dejavu Sans Mono look not as perfect as was before, but still OK. Dejavu Sans
look like fonts were on Linux many years ago.

Same here.

I changed all fonts to Liberation * though, they are well hinted so the
fonts look almost fine, but still slightly blurry according to my taste

Just installed Hardy Alpha 6 and noticed that fonts now look a bit blurry on my
laptop's screen as compared to Alpha 5.
Anti-aliasing is enabled and hinting style is full.
