Everybody does not have a big resolution, or the money to buy it. I don't see why this is submitted as a bug, the new fonts seem better to me. Same here in kubuntu hardy alpha 6. I've tried downgrading language-selector as described in bug 199557, and dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config and I am not sure if it helped or not. But what I currently have is on screenshot. The font that is on the left is Dejavu Sans Mono, the other one is Dejavu Sans. Dejavu Sans Mono look not as perfect as was before, but still OK. Just installed Hardy Alpha 6 and noticed that fonts now look a bit blurry on my laptop's screen as compared to Alpha 5. It wont help but for me these fonts changes were actually good and well noticeable: it feels better, probably more antialiased.
