Public bug reported: Binary package hint: partman-auto
With Hardy Alpha 6 Alternate Installer: I don't believe this is a partman-auto-lvm issue since it has to deal with general rationing of partitions. I'd think that would be handled by a more generic function. Root partition super tiny when selecting seperated /,/usr,/var,/tmp,/home. Hardly enough room to upgrade the kernel when needed. See size of /lib/modules/ with a single kernel installed. partman-auto should definately take into concideration the size needed for linux modules and all restricted modules. --- [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/jambi-root 283M 154M 115M 58% / varrun 506M 92K 506M 1% /var/run varlock 506M 0 506M 0% /var/lock udev 506M 72K 506M 1% /dev devshm 506M 0 506M 0% /dev/shm lrm 506M 38M 469M 8% /lib/modules/2.6.24-12-generic/volatile /dev/sda1 236M 26M 199M 12% /boot /dev/mapper/jambi-home 80G 15G 61G 20% /home /dev/mapper/jambi-tmp 380M 11M 350M 3% /tmp /dev/mapper/jambi-usr 5.7G 1.8G 3.6G 34% /usr /dev/mapper/jambi-var 2.9G 863M 1.9G 32% /var [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# du -hcs /lib/modules/2.6.24-12-generic 104M /lib/modules/2.6.24-12-generic 104M total ** Affects: partman-auto (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Root FS too small when selecting seperated volumes. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
