Confirmed - I thought I am crazy cause nobody else experienced this
problem... I have this bug or whatever since the 14.03...
I am running Hardy x86 (Beta) with a nVidia 8800GTS (G92) with nvidia-glx-new
and compiz turned on!
When I try to disable compiz (system - appearence) it did not change

I did a search about this problems on launchpad and found the following bug:

For me the removal of keytouch solved the problem!

Hey thanks for advising, I *do* have keytouch installed but didn't notice a
link between it and the problem!
I'll try removing it and retest.

Confirmed - I am experiencing precisely the same issue. In my case I can
make the shutdown continue by pressing the power button (triggering an
