The cause seems to be that is not possible to cancel a task (downloading emails...), even clicking on cancel... So when evolution tries to close, it waits until all the tasks are complete... which can be long if : - there is a bug in the program which make the task uncompletable - there is a

Sorry, I was unavailable for a while... It seems you need to enable apport: open a terminal, and 'sudo gedit /etc/default/apport'; change 'enabled' from zero to 1, and save. Then try again, with a SIGSEGV (kill -SEGV `pidof evolution` should do the trick). This should kick apport. -- evolution
