Public bug reported: Hi Canonical Team,
The local usb printer connection of my pc gets systematically lost under 8.04 (multi-function epson stylus dx5050) . It worked fine under 7.10 and before. The sane/scanner tools are working too. Process: - cups recognizes the connection, - installs the printer w. native dx4800 driver, - after a few seconds, the printer message box will explain the printer connection 'may be' lost. What I tried: - Hardy is up-to-date, i386, generic kernel - uninstalled - reinstalled several times cups - had a look on udev rules, didn't find what to tune (some posts relating this) Configuration: lsusb Bus 005 Device 006: ID 04b8:082b Seiko Epson Corp.
