still happening if you add the weather applet again? does the same
happens with a new user? Can you try the same with Intrepid? I've tried
to replicate this and it works fine i don't get a double degrees sign
here.

I've actually stopped using the weather applet cause the date/time
applet can show weather too and don't have this problem.
What I originally did was to change the temperature unit in the
preferences and then changed it back to default. It worked fine with
setting a specific unit (K, C, F) but
