Can you see if disabling the animation plugin in compiz makes this go
away? Install compizconfig-settings-manager and run
System-Preferences-Advanced Desktop Effects Settings and uncheck the
Animations plugin in there.

In that case this is a dupe of another known bug (that I can't seem to
find) and I think the fix is already in hardy-proposed. Can you see if
installing all compiz-related packages from hardy-proposed helps?

it anymore and I can't find the duplicate bug too.. Setting to fix
