2013-08-13 Thread Ahmed Shams
As this bug has been there for a long time without activity and for some
reason it doesn't show the auto countdown to invalidation after 60 days
of beig in Incomplete status, I'm manually setting it to invalid.
Please feel free to re-open it once the bug found in a currently
supported release of Ubuntu or the upstream pkg.

2012-02-04 Thread Chauncellor
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

2008-05-21 Thread jcaya
When I use the normal left mouse button (the one below the touchpad)
the spots return, the desktop icons can no longer be moved and in short
the bug returns. If I click with the mouse buttons below the spacebar
numerous times I can get the bug to disengage in that the new desktop
icons can be moved and the spots do not re-occur but the old ones are
still present and the old desktop icons cannot be moved..

This could be related to the fact that the Dell D420 has two types of mouse.
Could this be related to jcaya machine as well? Which type is it.
Can you post the output of xev?
If you have a mouse button in between the keyboard (like dell) and don't use
the related mouse button, can you test with using different mouse buttons on
the laptop?

I am running a Dell Inspiron 8500 from 2003. It has a P4 with 1560MB PC
2100 SD Ram and a Nvidia graphics card. It is indeed equipped with the
dual mouse buttons. One set is below the spacebar and the other is
below the finger pad.

USING THE MOUSE BUTTONS BELOW THE SPACEBAR EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT
SHOULD.

What is it you would like form me xev output. It is pages long and both
the outputs after mouse clicks from the middle and bottom sets are the
same.

2008-05-19 Thread Trond Husoe
Today the icons under Nautilus was / is not responsive, but mouse can be
used to click on links in status bar, menu and links in Firefox.

Have to select an area in Nautilus to select icon. At one time this
selected area was not removed. This area is moving up and down when I
changed directory to cd-dvd creator because of the write to disc button-
area.

I still don't know what this could be, but I am trying to burn Gutsy to
take a look at the xorg.conf-file. I removed the file yesterday without
any changes.

Tried to use the xorg.conf file from Gutsy. No change.
Under Gutsy (before upgrading) I had issues with the Title bar disappearing,
could this be related to the non-sticky title bar under Hardy?

I have now downgraded to Gutsy as I spent to much time with a desktop that does
not work as it should.

On Sat, 2008-05-10 at 20:55 +, Sebastien Bacher wrote:

It's kinda hard to for me to describe in easy steps how to trigger the
issue. But this is the state of my desktop at the moment:
1) I log in and the desktop comes up with standard icons.
2) I check to see if things have become better by clicking around on the
desktop. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't. When they don't I
get selected areas where I have selected the desktop.
3) Sometimes I can't choose the icons, menus or anything. When that
happens I right click and I get the pop up menu. Then things are back to
normal.
4) This also affects the fact that when moving windows they go into
maximize state first before they are moved. This is what happens:
4a) Grabbing the title bar by left clicking it.
4b) While holding the title bar I move the mouse pointer.
4c) The window maximizes.
4d) The window goes back to same size as it had before it became
maximized
4e) The window is moved / moving.

5) Today I can sense that the mouse is to picky. It thinks I am double
clicking everything...

So for me this seems like has something to do with a) Nautilus or b) X
and some configuration settings related to latest versino of X. This did
not happen in Ubuntu 7.10.

I will provide any log-information needed to get this fixed.

+ Binary package hint: nautilus, X-server

  1) Ubuntu Hardy
- 2) Just downloaded and installed the build that was released 24.04.2008
- 3) I moved the mouse over the titlebar and clicked the right mouse button.
This in order to move the window. When I start moving the mouse while holding
the mouse button down it does not move. The hand is there for a few seconds,
but then it seems like it slips. Normally I would be able to move the window
around. System runs without much Compiz stuff on it, and no wobbling.
- 4) The hand goes back to an arrow and it is not possible to move the window.
-
- I have not been able to create some debug-information, so if someone could
please tell me how to do this, I will very much like to do so.
- I will how ever reinstall Hardy today and tell the installer to format /boot
/ partitions so that I know that those partitions are empty.
+ 2) When moving a window with Compiz on the hand slips. With Compiz off the
window is first maximized before it is possible to move it. If I select areas
on the desktop sometimes the selected area does not disappear. Also moving the
