Ubuntu 16.04 LTS:
Crash after installation, because the file /etc/libuser.conf wasn't
found.
As #Stoner mentioned, creating a file with...:
~ sudo touch /etc/libuser.conf
...helped.

That version has died long ago; no more supported

Confirmed as per Paul Chandler, cannot start samba at all after
installing via:
sudo apt-get install gksu
sudo apt-get install samba samba-common
sudo apt-get install system-config-samba cifs-utils
sudo testparm
sudo service smbd restart
I've tried numerous variations found online, and still
Worked fine in Ubuntu 14.04, not working in Ubuntu 15.04.

Marking as confirmed since this bug is affecting 2 people. For future
reference you can manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the

Samba worked fine in Jaunty, but now crashes random (2 out of 4
startups) in 9.10 Karmic Koala, right on startup of the system.

So is there going to be a fix? THis SAMBA worked fine in Jaunty, but
now fails in 9.10 Beta.
