Just to add, rather than increasing all the font sizes with ctrl+, if you go into firefox preferences, content tab and choose the advanced button by font size, you can set the minimum font size at anything 12 or more and it seems to fix the problem also. I am so glad I found this page. This was driving me crazy and 4chan was the only site where I consistently encountered this. I would see it every now and then, but very infrequently. 4chan was a definite issue pretty much on every single page. I adjusted the font size via CTRL+scrollwheel and the page renders correctly, but normal size it gets all out of whack. If I switch tabs and come back to 4chan, what was on the previous tab now displayed on the 4chan tab at the top. I would have to scroll down then up to clear the page of the previous tab's render. Very frustrating! Yes, I can verify that it is fine with 'font-size: 14px', and I can reproduce the issue by setting 'font-size: 10px'. The plain text is fine, but the links go crazy. README: This is an assumption, but for all that this is happening to, please check if there are any east-asian characters on the page that it happens on. 4chan has them, some lastfm pages have the, wiki has them. I just tried it by saving an imgboard.html page from 4chan to my computer and commenting out any lines that contained Japanese characters, (notably, the このサイトについて - 翻訳 link at the top of the page, which isn't visible due to the ghosting) and the ghosting didn't happen, whereas it did happen with the locally stored copy of imgboard.html before I edited it. Tried making a blank page with: just kana, just kanji, just kana links, just kanji links and both mixed. Nothing I do causes the ghosting. Must be something else that needs to be present on the same page that effects the kana/kanji rendering. After some more playing around, it seems that I have found the cause of the bug. Setting the font size of east-asian characters to 10px, 8px or 2px causes the ghosting. I think it has to do with the size of the kana. I updated the bug description, as one of the wikipedia links I provided earlier has been removed, and one that I noted as not having this issue actually does have it (perhaps I missed it which I checked the first time). I tested with epiphany-browser, and the issue is not present there. I notice that most/all of the reports are for firefox-3.0 on 64-bit systems with nvidia non-free drivers. I have also been experiencing this bug with both b5 and rc1, but I had only noticed it with certain image pages on Wikipedia. I can confirm that the same issue happens for me too on 4chan. It can be reproduced most easily by scrolling down the page with the mouse wheel. It's usually the license boxes that show up the problem. You can also switch tabs and see that the page does not refresh at all (it looks like the previous tab). Maximising / restoring / sidebars sometimes show up the issue as well. I get the same thing on my desktop computer running 8.04/Firefox 3 (but not firefox 2) with the non-free nvidia drivers. However, I don't get it on my laptop which has an Intel graphics card, so I think it's a driver problem. It's kind of odd that the only page I'm able to replicate this bug with is 4chan.
