I can confirm that the fix here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=476300 when applied to the Intrepid .deb will fix
this bug on an Intrepid x86 system. I don't see any changes made to the
debian sid package. How long before this fix will be included into the
mainstream?

Confirmed, also on Ubuntu Hardy x86_64. After manually applying the
patch suggested in the debbugs #476300 report log (making version check
in file prefs.tcl case insensitive) cecilia starts without any problems.

8.04 x86_64, same problem. Using the updated Debian .deb file and
launching from the source files found at Sourceforge.net yields same
results.
