I want to reopen the bug, as the fix did only solve the issue that the
Ok button did not work, but online synchronization is still not
working. I have filed a corresponding KDE bug report

I managed to compile and install the fixed version. Now I can click OK
all right. Unfortunately, still nothing happens - no syncing is
happening...

The OK button does work now but the actual online sync does not work for
me either. Browsing around I noticed that the online account name and
password are stored as plain text in akregator_feedsyncrc which makes me
a little nervous. I deleted the file for now given that the online sync
doesn't
