@Sebastien, if Hardy users have a bug they don't mind if it's fixed in next
distro release. A bug in Hardy fixed in Intrepid remains a bug and Ubuntu is
responsible for this, as sayd by Mark Shuttleworth, in his blog, on Friday,

the current ubuntu version, an hardy task can be opened if the bug
should be fixed there too. the ubuntu team doesn't have the manpower to

comment on a f-spot bug some seconds before :-))

that in this distro the problem was fixed.
I expect it will be fixed in Hardy too as I sayd in my previous post.

software, thousand of bugs have been fixed in intrepid and everything
can't be backported in hardy, closing the bug since that's fixed in
intrepid, an hardy backport can be considered later though

It seems that evolution still downloads emails as I sayd in my second post.
Maybe I will try to test this issue in Intrepid as you say but I don't
understand why many bugs are resolved in Intrepid and not in Hardy. Isn't this
last a LTS distro which should have additional stabilization
the gdb log has no stacktrace, does it hang or does the status bar keeps
being updated and it's just downloading? there is similar issues which
have been fixed in intrepid, could you give a try to the new version?

@Pedro, I backtraced my evolution, with gdb, when I closed it during
email download (unfortunally you will see no debugging symbols found
as I cannot install yelp-dbgsym as sayd in bug 255863) but you can see
that the program exits normally after I close it. The issue is related
