I got the same error Michael Vogt mentioned
rmdir: failed to remove `/var/lib/odbc': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing tdsodbc (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Synaptic then showed the package as installed.
I then created the
dpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 49729 package
`liblockfile1':
EOF after field name `Installed-'
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
I get this message every time I try to install or uninstall a package.

I removed the package tdsodbc. Did the 8.04.1 to 8.10 upgrade.
Afterwards it installed without incident.

Can't copy intrepid-proposed to jaunty, since jaunty has a never
