there are multiple issues listed here, so this bug is getting confusing. Harry, your lshal reveals that your trackpad should use the synaptics driver, so I'm not sure what's wrong there. Xorg.0.log would help. The slow movement bug is bug 262276, and the mouse prefs has been fixed to use input
