Public bug reported:

When defining a static ip address the default tab displayed is the MAC address
tab.
The default tab shown should be the IPv4 tab.
Not many systems have multiple NICs (neither has this system). Most people just
want to get to typing their IP-address.
An inexperienced user will be stuck with the MAC address or worse, will try to
input their ipv4 address.

And about that IP-address entry. You can't see the whole ip-address you
are typing while typing it. Only after you switch fields, which can ONLY
be done with a mouse click, you can see the ip-address you entered. Same
with netmask and default gw.

Suggestions:
-Make the default tab ipv4 addresses tab and move it to the left side.
-Resize the IP-address fields to their proper length so you can check the
ip-address while you are typing it.
-Make pressing enter or tab go to the next field in the ipv4 addresses tab
address entry.
-MAC address field should be pre-populated on systems with only one ethernet
interface.
