Atheros wireless (AR5007) not working on various laptops, including the ASUS
Eee PC

Atheros 5007 wireless still doesn't work in intrepid beta
I am sure this will be fixed soon in 8.10 but in the meantime the latest
wireless package
http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Download
solved the problem for me. The 5007 is working again!!

AR5007 did not work out of the box in hardy, but I was able to install a
snapshot driver from madwifi quite easily: http://snapshots.madwifi.org
/madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6/madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801.tar.gz
That driver does not work with Intrepid beta.

Atheros 5007 wireless still doesn't
I have same chipset on Acer Laptop and this has been an issue since
Gutsy Gibbon, continues with Hardy but up until 2.6.24-19 kernal the
Madwifi driver could be installed and all would be a source of joy.
Since upgrading to 2.6.24-21 kernal the madwifi install causes a kernal
panic if it is
I confirm that this bug still continues on ubuntu 8.10 beta too. I have
a laptop with atheros ar5007 wifi card .
