I come up with a solution using libusb. The connection protocol lacks (at
least) two packets that switch on the sound on the HiFi.
I made a C script that works with MCM530, but it should also work with MCM5xx

Care to do one more test using the latest Karmic 9.10 Alpha release?
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/ . It contains a newer 2.6.31
based kernel and you should be able to test using a LiveCD. Please let
