That fix has been in place for years. Lots of hardware would likely
break if it was reverted.
Rather, it will need to be massaged a bit to not cause whatever issue
you're seeing.

Thanks, finally works very well without crashes on lid-close or sleep,
even after removing the line from xorg.conf!
