in digicam, selecting help - about digicam says 0.10.0, but say
Version=0.9.3.
the kdebase-kio-plugins is no longer installed on my system, it was
removed during the upgrade from intrepid to jaunty.
maybe this is a problem with upgrading? the upgrade from intrepid to
jaunty changes kde from 3 to
I am not clear on what digikam version you have installed, are you
saying that what digikam tells you differs from what synaptics does?
What says 0.10.0 and what says 0.9.3?
But regardless, you can always try to uninstall and then install,
shouldn't do any harm (maybe no good either...).

hmm, this worked fine after installing the kdebase-kio-plugins package
in Intrepid, but is broken again in Jaunty :( the entry in
~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals is as suggested above, but without fixing
the problem. other kde apps (from within gnome) see the trash, so it
seems a digikam problem to
Since posting the workaround (I owe a late thank you to Alexandre Racine
for posting the fix that really worked) I have moved to a fresh install
of 64bit Jaunty, that offers digikam 0.10.0, and I don't see any
problem: trash is handled correctly on my system.
Also, I tried deleting the entry in
Digikam 0.10.0 beta 8 properly uses the trash kio slave for moving
things to the trash.

Hallo Alexandre,
I did what sim909 had done:
*Change the line
Trash[$e]=$HOME/Desktop/Trash/
to:
Trash[$e]=$HOME/.local/share/* *Trash
Restart digikam and now the delete function works.
*Greetings*

Hi Peter, what do you mean exactly by
Ok. Look carefully at this comment if your delete function works, but files
don't get to the trashcan.

Also, please do not assign the bug to you. If you do, this would mean that you
will fix this problem for all of
it works!
Thank you much.

I have the same problem. Found the following workaround on ubuntuforums,
I haven't tried it yet but will do as soon as I get a chance.
Open file ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals in a text editor.

I corrected what sim wrote... tested and it does work correctly (the
file goes in the trash)
Open file ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals in a text editor.
Change the line
Trash[$e]=$HOME/Desktop/Trash/
to:
Trash[$e]=$HOME/.local/share/Trash/files
Restart digikam and now the delete function

I have tried it now, it is not a perfect fix, i.e. you won't get the
error message, the image is moved to the specified folder, but it
doesn't show up in the trash system folder.
So I will patiently wait for a real fix to the bug, not being able to
fix it myself.

I don't have a workaround, unfortunately.
