Ah, that rules out a change in -intel. Unfortunately that makes this
quite a bit harder to solve since we don't know what component it is.
We really need a clue from upstream to be able to make any progress on
this. I'll re-ping them.
There are several components involved in 3D, any of which
In talking with Jesse:
bryce re bug 18360 again... Torsten found it does not occur on Intrepid, so
presumably a patch exists somewhere.
bryce however he compiled the 2.4.1 driver that worked on Intrepid, on Hardy
and the issue still occurs, so it sounds like the fix could be in mesa,
xserver,
Running the 2.6.27-7-generic kernel does not fix the problem.

Not seeing this bug. Here is why:
So as of late I have learned that you cannot just use the pm-* commands
without playing with the hardware clock or what not.
When I run this exact same test, but instead of using pm-hibernate, I go
to the gnome menu and hiberate. I do not see this issue.
--
When using the GUI hibernation (battery - hibernate) I get a halfway
shown 3D window, see the attached screenshot. The right side is black.
When toggling between the 3D window and 2D window, the attached
screenshot is seen every second time.

I spoke too soon on my last post. I eventually did see the netbook remix
menu went all white. Then after switching between virtual terms, it was
back to normal.
Just tried intrepid and it appears that it does not have this issue. I
have my desktop using compiz and it is not having the same type
When it works in Intrepid, we can use this driver version on Hardy and see if
the bug occurs:

I compiled the 2.4.1 sources and used them, the behavior is the same.
Here the relevant part from /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(II) LoadModule: intel
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so
(II) Module intel: vendor=X.Org Foundation
compiled for 1.4.0.90, module version = 2.4.1

Are you able to reproduce this on an Intrepid LiveCD? If the issue is
absent on Intrepid, then perhaps there is a patch we can pull.

This marked as 8.10 (Intrepid) in the upstream bug, but the X and intel
driver version seems to be compatible with 8.04 (Hardy). What version is
this for?
