Public bug reported:

First, this might be related to another package, one just can't submit
a report without giving a package.

I'm running Kubuntu 04.08 on an Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Xi 1554 Laptop,
2.6.24-21-generic #1 SMP.

: dmesg | grep iwl

Setting a channel, e.g.
: iwconfig wlan0 channel 2
:
works, so in principle the hardware is up, however, I can't set an encryption
key:

:wconfig wlan0 key s:secret
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.

Encryption works fine with the older kernel using ipw3945 on 2.6.22-15.
iwl3945 worked never for me, and I tried all kernel during the updates of hardy.

** Affects: linux-backports-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu)
