This means that the new pdftoraster filter solves this problem. As in
Jaunty the pdftoraster filter is already replaced by the new one I mark
this bug as fixed.

Can you try the following?
First, download this file:
http://www.openprinting.org/download/printing/ghostscript-cups-
patches/pdftoraster.c
This is an alternative Ghostscript-based pdftoraster filter.
Install the packages needed to compile it:
sudo apt-get install libcups2-dev libcupsimage2-de
