Sorry I haven't had a chance to look at this report. Would you be able to download and test this with the live CD of Lucid 10.04 beta 1 please? If this is still a problem there, you should have no problem running the apport-collect 296115 command from there to gather the information. Thank you.

Ok so the bug happened on Intrepid. I wiped a system and installed Jaunty... never had that problem. Few weeks ago I wiped the system (looks like I had to wipe, otherwise heisenbugs show up in Ubuntu) and installe Karmic. Everything worked fine, I was just applying updates, and suddenly I noticed

Looks like right now I don't have sound at all, no matter how many times I reboot (it most likely is due to recent upgrade I know that at least pulse audio was updated). It is probably a different bug, but now I'm unable to provide feedback if something would move forward in this bug... There
