it is mp3 as that is what i am using, recently it stopped playing with the
following terminal output
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ audacious
amidi-plug(amidi-plug.c:amidiplug_init:97): init, read configuration
amidi-plug(i_backend.c:i_backend_load:107): loading backend
Does that just happen when you open .mp3, or are other file types
affected, too?
If you are looking for an alternative music-player I would recommend
amarok.
