Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox
firefox frequently freezes when selecting links to pages with quite some graphical content, e.g. when surfing to http://livescience.com and surfing around on this page. The behaviour is as follows: the circular wait cursor is shown, then the window turns colorless darkgrey-black, system is irresponsive, and after some 20 to 30 seconds, color comes back and everything is back to normal (not all media is available, but that's a different problem, I think) The firefox of the xp virtual machine that I run (using virtualbox) does not suffer this problem. It is very responsive, and even shows all media content. % lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) Release: 9.04 % apt-cache policy firefox firefox: Installed: 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- firefox sluggish jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/305074 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
