Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

My computer will randomly freeze when I use it, or leave it alone for a
while (long enough for it to hibernate).

When the computer freezes, the screen is still visible, except
everything stops. The clock stops and the process monitor applet stops.
The system does not react to the keyboard or mouse.

Also, most of the time, the wifi, Caps lock, and Scroll lock lights
blink.

I am using a Dell D820 with Ubuntu 8.10. I think I'm using the NV
driver. I used to use the nvidia driver, but it seems that 8.10 has the
nv driver by default.

It used to rarely happen (like twice since I have owned this laptop
which is about 2 1/2 years) but is happening very frequently today (4
times already).

What other information do you need?

Thanks,
Brian
