It happens in lucid.
checkgmail -update says:
OK to update to new version via 'sudo mv checkgmail /usr/bin/'?(Y/n) y
Update NOT performed ...
Deleting temp file ...
Continuing with application startup ...
The problem remains.

Same here. I think this started happen when I upgraded to jaunty. I've
also noticed that the icon in the dialogues has changed to that grey
unknown-icon icon, don't know if this is related.
