Bug has been deleted after update to last version of xserver-xorg-video-intel
from intrepid-proposed.
I reinstall and use compiz without any problem.
I wiil try with an external monitor for a non regression test.

I tried with 8.04 and it's exactly the same results :
- without an external monitor - black screen (login sound heard),
- with an external monitor all is ok on the external monitor (nothing on the
internal LCD).
Do you think I need to try 7.10 ?

Can you please post the vendor/model of your laptop?
I am thinking that there may be a mismatched refresh rate in the default
configuration.
Did this work in Previous Versions of Ubuntu? If you were to run the
Intrepid

The vendor/model of my Laptop : LENOVO U110 also known as IDEAPAD.
Previous versions of ubuntu : not tested. I will try with 8.04 as soon as I
managed to make a USB key version.
If I try with Intrepid live, I get similar result : black screen but I can hear
