Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox
When my wife goes onto Singsnap.com the webcam works perfectly on my Inspiron 1525, but if she leaves the page where she records music and returns the camera will no longer work. The little blue light will not come on and there will be no video output. The same will happen in Cheese or Skype. If I close Firefox I then can get video in Cheese, Skype, and even in flash again if I restart Firefox. If I go into Skype or Cheese the video works fine. I can even start video in Skype then stop the video and still get video in Cheese. I don't need to close Skype to get other video to work unlike Flash in Firefox. I am not totally sure if the problem is with Firefox or Flash, but it looks like the problem might have something with Firefox or Flash not giving up control over the webcam. I am using a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a built in 2.0 megapixel webcam and using a fully updated Ubuntu 8.10. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- webcam on inspiron 1525 haves problems with flash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/319047 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
